Chelsea Fairgrounds. August 19-23. Fair rides and concessions by Mid American Shows (August 21, 5-10 p.m., & August 22-25, 1-10 p.m.), along with an array of livestock shows, truck and tractor pulls, demolition derbies, and more. New this year is "Nature's Creation of Life," an exhibit of calves, piglets, lambs, and chicks, some of which are expected to be born during the fair.
Chelsea Fairgrounds, Old US-12 at Manchester (off Old US-12 north from I-94 exit 159), Chelsea. $7 (children 10 & under, free) per day; $25 (seniors & students, $15) for a 5-day pass. 475-8153 before fair; 475-1270 during fair week.

Crossroads Summer Festival. Every Friday, June 6-September 12. Weekly outdoor stage in downtown Ypsilanti with a variety of dance bands. (In case of rain, held in Club Devine, 25 North Washington.) Weekly schedules available at ypsicrossroads.org.
