Jewish Community Center Afternoon Delights. Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra violinist Anton Shelepov, former assistant concertmaster of the Kremlin Chamber Orchestra, leads his Andiamo String Quartet in a program of Piazzolla's nuevo tango compositions that incorporate elements of jazz and classical music. Academy of Early Music. The internationally recognized local early-music quartet La Gente d'Orfeo performs works by 17th-century Italian and German composers, including Frescobaldi, Buchner, Biber, Rovetta, Weckmann, Rosenmueller, Sweelinck, Marini, Cima, Picci, and Castello. Members are violinist Daniel Foster, cornettist Kiri Tollaksen, viola da gambist and cellist Debra Lonergan, and keyboardist Martha Folts on virginal and organ.

Tokyo String Quartet:
University Musical Society. Widely considered one of the world's best chamber ensembles, this quartet is known for its technical refinement, fiery intensity, and consummate phrasing. The group is also noted for the quality of its instruments, a set made by Stradivari and once owned by Paganini. Tonight, it is joined by world-renowned clarinetist Sabine Meyer to perform Brahms's Clarinet Quintet in B Minor. Also, Beethoven's Quartet in A Major and Bartok's Quartet No. 5.
