The Blind Pig: Caribou
Psychedelic folk-rock electronica quintet from Ontario led by singer-songwriter Daniel Snaith. All Music Guide critic John Rush says that the band's latest CD, Andorra, "sounds like it was recorded in 1966 by a British band that just missed the cut for the Nuggets, vol. 2 box set." Opening act is Mahoney, a local acoustic experimental rock duo. Advance tickets: $15.

The Circus: "Live Rock 'n' Roll Karaoke"
Karaoke with prerecorded rhythm tracks and live guitars and keyboards by the Hartland trio Double Take.

Club Above: Latino Night
DJ Xcess plays salsa, merengue, reggae, and other Latin dance records. Also, salsa lessons, 9-10 p.m.

Conor O'Neill's: DJ Big Daddie. July 5
Detroit trio that plays traditional Celtic music with a Middle Eastern accent.

Crazy Wisdom Tea Room: Mutual Kumquat.
Local band that plays a blend of folk, funk, bluegrass, and reggae.

The Earle: Rick Burgess Trio
Jazz ensemble featuring pianist Burgess, drummer Robert Warren, and bassist Russel Tessier.

Elbow Room: Incisor.
Local metal-thrash trio. Opening act is John Frum, a Detroit punk-jazz quartet.

The Firefly Club: Easy Street Swingtet
(5:30-8 p.m.) Dixieland and swing by this local ensemble led by saxophonist and trumpeter Paul Klinger.

The Firefly Club: Ken Peplowski & Bucky Pizzarelli
Jazz ensemble featuring Peplowski, a renowned Cleveland-bred clarinet virtuoso known for his rich tone and deep swinging style, and Pizzarelli, an 82-year-old classical jazz guitarist who has played with everyone from Vaughn Monroe to Doc Severinsen's Tonight Show band.

Goodnite Gracie: CB3
Organ-driven jazz-funk by this local band.

Guy Hollerin's: Howard Glazer and the EL34s
Houserocking blues by this Detroit trio led by singer-guitarist Glazer.

The Habitat Ultralounge: Ultraviolet
Detroit band that plays 70s & 80s rock hits.

Live at PJ's: The Frontmen
Detroit quartet that plays a mix of progressive rock and hip-hop.

Melange Subterranean Bistro: Dave Sharp Quartet.
Straight-ahead jazz by this local quartet led by bassist Sharp.

The Necto:
"Pride." DJ Jaces spins high-energy dance tunes in the main room. In the downstairs Red Room, DJ Mark plays retro music videos and DJ John G spins Top 40 records. In the Blue Room, DJ Mike spins techno records.

The Quarter Bistro: The Groove-Matist
Retro, Top 40, and hip-hop dance party with DJ Mechial White.

Rick's American Cafe: DJ Swerve
DJ spins dance records.

TC's Speakeasy: Freer.
Detroit R&B-inflected pop-punk quartet band. Opening acts are The Scarring Party, a Milwaukee quartet featuring tuba and accordion that plays a brand of vintage pop and jazz it calls "end timey music," and Wildcatting, an Ypsilanti metal-rock band.

TC's Speakeasy: Roz
