The Gepetto Files
Idiosyncratic local marionette troupe that specializes in off-the-wall, postpunk explorations of American cultural archetypes that are simultaneously weird, hilarious, provocative, sophomoric, and haunting. Opening acts are Downtown Brown, a postpunk metal-funk trio from Detroit, and Counter Cosby, a local prog-rock metal band with a wayward sense of humor.

(5:30-8:30 p.m.) Local futuristic retro-rock trio named "Ann Arbor's most underrated band" by Current. The band has a new CD, The Way Things Were. Opening act is Jere Stormer, a folk-oriented singer-songwriter from Ferndale.

Veteran Christian singer-songwriter from Fort Wayne known for his engaging, folk-style story songs.

Detroit trio that plays traditional Celtic music with a Middle Eastern accent.
Crazy Wisdom Tea Room:
John Steffenson.
Folk fusion by this Ypsilanti singer-songwriter, a classically trained guitarist. He's accompanied by cellist Kate Blaha and harmony vocalist Anna Zang.
Dreamland Theater:
Patrick Elkins.
Ypsilanti singer-songwriter whose shows also include performance art, poetry, and finger-puppetry. Opening acts are Actual Birds & the High Spirits, a local avant-noise ensemble led by singer-songwriter Dustin Krcatovich, and Dos Hermanos, an Ypsilanti pop band.

Rick Burgess Trio
Jazz ensemble featuring pianist Burgess, drummer Robert Warren, and bassist Russel Tessier.
Elbow Room:
Flatfoot
Lansing roots-rock band. Opening acts are the Grand Rapids southern-tinged blues-rock band Nathan Kalish & the Wildfire, the Buffalo, New York, experimental rock trio Needle Up!, and Detroit country-rock singer-songwriter Steve McCauley. July 12: TBA.

Arno & Randy Marsh
Saxophonist Arno Marsh, a Grand Rapids-bred veteran of Woody Herman's Third Herd and other renowned big bands, is joined by his son Randy, a veteran area percussionist. They are accompanied by the Paul Keller Trio, a veteran local jazz ensemble led by bassist Keller.

Easy Street Swingtet
(5:30-8 p.m.) Dixieland and swing by this local ensemble led by saxophonist and trumpeter Paul Klinger.

Local guitar-based blues band.

Drivin' Sideways
Veteran local band fueled by vocalist Pontiac Pete Ferguson's alternately soulful and ornery vocals. Their country-based repertoire still features lots of classic honky-tonk, but they also cover everything from Chuck Berry and Johnny Burnette to the Beatles and James Brown. The band's guiding presence seems to be Elvis - including both large chunks of his repertoire and his attitude that any music he did suited him just because he did it. The band also includes guitarist George Bedard, bassist Chris Goerke, drummer Mark Newbound, and keyboardist Jim King.

July 12: Devil Elvis. Ypsilanti rockabilly singer-songwriter. Opening acts are the Detroit blues and rock band Hotness, Port Huron garage-rockabilly singer-songwriter Subourbon Son, and Dirt Road Logic, a 1970s-style rock 'n' roll band fronted by singer-guitarist Eric Kelly.
