This local music club features live music 5 nights a week, with a varied assortment of local and out-of-town rock 'n' roll, blues, reggae, and dance bands, 10:30 p.m.-1:30 a.m. (unless otherwise noted). Also, occasional early shows, usually 7-10 p.m. Karaoke on Mon.; closed most Sun. If there's an opening act, the headliner usually goes on stage between 11:30 p.m. and midnight. Cover (except "Showcase Night"), dancing.

December 2: "Showcase Night."

With 4 different young local bands.

December 3: King Jazzy.

Detroit MC whose music blends hip-hop with elements of reggae and electronica. Opening act is DJ Rude Dude, a local hip-hop and reggae DJ.

December 4: John Brown's Body.

Highly regarded 70s-style roots-reggae band from Boston known for its buoyant horn arrangements, delectable harmonies, steady rhythmic pulse, and seductive melodies. Opening act is Spiritual Rez, a Boston band whose music blends reggae, funk, and Afrobeat. Advance tickets: $12 ($15 at the door). 9 p.m.-2 a.m.

December 5: Ann Arbor Soul Club

Classic soul music by the local DJ duo of Brad Hales and Robert Wells.

December 6: Lightning Love.

Local keyboard-driven minimalist pop trio. Opening acts are Charlie Slick, a local electro-pop singer-songwriter, and Friendly Foes, a Ferndale indie powerpop trio.

December 9: "Showcase Night."

With 4 different young local bands.

December 10: The Valley Ghosts.

Garage rock band from Boston. Opening acts are Pop Songs for People, a Lake Orion folk-rock trio, and Royale, an Ypsilanti rock band.

December 11: Bandalon

Local rock band. Opening act is Tokyo SexWhale, a punk-metal quartet from Ottawa.

December 12: Novada.

Veteran Saline rock 'n' roll band. Opening acts are The Setup, a local pop-rock quartet, and Otto Vector, a Dearborn techno-pop band.

December 13: Tickled Fancy Burlesque Co.

Popular local postpunk burlesque troupe that tonight is celebrating its 2nd anniversary. Opening acts are the local carnival sideshow act Arson's Blazing Carnival, the local all-female postpunk avant-jazz quintet Pussy Pirates, the Chicago all-female "pink-metal" punk duo Heart-Shaped Hate, and the Chicago postpunk trio Paper Mice.

December 16: "Showcase Night."

With 4 different young local bands.

December 17: Inkface & the Digital Dream

Ypsilanti electronica-dub trio. Opening act TBA.

December 18: Gas for Less

Local alt-country honky-tonk and rockabilly band led by singer-songwriter (and former Lucky Haskins frontman) Ryan Racine. Opening acts are The Ferdy Mayne, an Ypsilanti folk-rock trio, and Doop & the Inside Outlaws, an acoustic country-rock band from River Rouge.

December 19: Buff-1

Popular local hip-hop MC. Opening acts are local hip-hop MC Now On, the local hip-hop collective Athletic Mic League, and local hip-hop DJs 14KT and DJ Graffiti.

December 20: Three Blue Teardrops

Rockabilly/psychobilly garage trio from Chicago. Opening act is Minor Planets, a local neo-new wave band.

December 23: "Showcase Night."

With 4 different young local bands.

December 26: Sway

Ypsilanti pop-rock band. Opening acts are the Detroit rock quartet The Pilz, the Northville pop-rock band The Robin Horlock Band, and the Ypsilanti pop-rock quartet

December 27: Brad Hales and DJ Dez

DJs spin funk, soul, and Latin records.

December 30: "Showcase Night."

With 4 different young local bands.

December 31: The Bang!

Dance party with this local DJ collective that plays garage and 70s rock.
